Lecsó - an easy to make big hit

Some of you might know we operated a food cabin at Basildon Market for a while - selling non-common sweet treats in addition to veggie and vegan food. And this dish was the most wanted on our product range - it's called 'lecsó' (pronounciation: [ˈlɛʧoː], "LETCH-oh"). Anyone who tried it was amazed - expressing experiences only by using superlatives. :)
And just now, just here, just for you we reveal the secret - but beware, you might even get killed knowing this ancient secret! :D
'Lecsó' is a very traditional Hungarian dish though regarding Wikipedia other nations also claim it to be their traditional dish, I could even define it as common in home-cooking - quite quick, simple and filling. And also extremely variable - sky's the limit. Once we tried it with some added courgette and Italian seasoning and still was fantastic. So don't hesitate to change the seasoning or to add anything you like to it.
The original recipe is very non-vegan just like the traditional Hungarian cuisine is not really vegan-friendly. But now we share the vegan version with you - the basics of this recipe. Read through the post because in the 'Notes' section you will find additional tips, information, etc.

Almost ready....

Cauliflower with mustard spread

Am I right assuming that you still don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen? Christmas and New Year's Eve have just gone and you are all fed up with the preparations, true? :)

Then here's another easy to make dish. That's extremely light, too, lighter (and easier to make) than the previous one, hence your stomach can have even more rest than when having our previous recipe. Unless you literally eat only the recipe..... I know I promised another casserole, but I am not certain at all whether this dish is a casserole or not. Please help me out! :)

So today's lesson is Cauliflower with mustard spread...

Potato gratin with kohlrabi

I'm aware that after Christmas you all want to have some rest. And probably most of you have spent more than enough time in the kitchen preparing Christmas dinner. Hence we're gonna share two easy to make casseroles with you. Obviously one by one... :)
This first one is a bit more time consuming though only the baking process. Preparation is quick and easy! Consumption as well... :) One more advantage: you need only a very short list of ingredients!
Are you hungry?

Fresh homemade sesame rolls

I assume you also eat bread. And prefer it when fresh....

Let us show you how you can bake your own rolls at home. Without any special equipment. Though if you have, it makes the process shorter and more comfortable.... An additional bonus of homemade bread - you know the ingredients....
Rolls are ready to be eaten..... :)
The listed ingredients are enough for approximately 9 palm-sized rolls. We used more of the ingredients and made bigger rolls.

Aglio e Olio Deluxe

No, I'm not talking about the deluxe edition of the Aglio e Olio EP from my favourite band, the Beastie Boys. Especially because there's no such edition, only the original version from 1995.
This post is about the boosted version of 'Spaghetti aglio e olio' ('Spaghetti with garlic and oil' in Italian), made by the Chef of the business Jimbo's Homemade, a.k.a. Andrea, my wife.

If you like delicious dishes, but don't want to spend a half day in the kitchen, or simply you don't have the time for that, then this pasta dish is just for you! She's gonna show you how to create something yummy in just about half an hour!

Hey, mate! Part I.

Nope, I'm not talking about your buddy, friend, pal, bloke, etc.

This post is about the beverage (Spanish: ˈmate, or maté), the 'wonder drink' that's very popular in South America, especially in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. It is made of the dried leaves of yerba mate (Ilex Paraguariensis), member of the holly genus. The dried and crumbled leaves are steeped in hot water.
